There are two units of NSS in Guru Nanak College. These units have been functioning with full vigour and enthusiasm trying to help channelise the energy of the students into a creative force to steer in social change through a wide range of community related activities such as aforestation, anti-drug drive and many other awareness programmes on literacy, women empowerment, issues related to environment, health and hygiene etc. These activities are being performed either in and around the College campus, or in the adopted village, Dhokra, a thickly populated village nearly two kilometers away eastward from the Bhuda Campus of the College.
Objective :- NSS units of the College aim at developing a sense of participation among the NSS students in nation building through social work. It instills an understanding of social environment in students and enriches their personality through actual participation in day-to-day life of the society. This process of learning is not only a desirable supplement to the classroom education but develops a sense of responsibility, tolerance and cooperation among students. It also aims at providing them with an opportunity to interact with people to understand their needs and problems and enables them to create a rounded personality.
The college, in its role as a resource centre for the society, receives much support from the N.S.S in its extension activity.
